PTFA Spring News

Be The Best!!!

You, yes you, could be part of the what is quite possibly the best PTFA in Sevenoaks.

Every year Parents, Teachers and Friends of Otford Primary School work together to plan and host events and activities for the enjoyment of the school community. Raising in excess of £20,000 (HUGE) for the last two years, these events raise much needed funds for all manner of things our children might otherwise go without: Playground upgrades, Library books and equipment, Music and Drama equipment, and much more.

This doesn’t happen by chance! The school is blessed with huge support from Class Reps, the Otford Angels network, and of course the PTFA Members.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to get involved in the PTFA formerly or ad-hoc as time allows. Come to meetings, support activities, or even help organise an event.

This year we have a great opportunity for those who wish to get more involved.

Do you have new and fresh ideas? Do you want to help steer how funds are allocated?

The PTFA is made up of 10 members from different backgrounds and with different skill sets. Some work full time in City, run their own businesses, work part time locally and some are on a career break to spend time with their family. The diversity is what helps ensure the PTFA have the blend of skills and opinions to make it all work.

This year, we are pleased and excited to have the opportunity for new members to join the PTFA. Some of the existing members are leaving the school or stepping back as a natural way to allow for fresh ideas and enthusiasm. As well as looking for new core members, we will also at the end of the year be electing a new Chair, Secretary, and

Vice Treasurer either from existing or newly joined members.

If you would like to find out how you can get involved in the PTFA either with ad-hoc assistance in the Otford Angels network or indeed at helm as Chair (or co-chair) of the PTFA, please do speak to one of the existing members or contact us.

Playground Committee Position

Our main fundraising target for this School year is to raise money for KS2 playground improvements.

Last year our amazing playground committee organised and put into place all of the wonderful improvements to the KS1 playground, as well as the outdoor classroom, and the music area on the KS2 playground.

Would you like to be a part of this? If so, we currently have 1 place available on the playground committee. If you would like further information, or would like to join this committee then please email the PTFA at
