Forest School Update
With Class 3B children still buzzing after their hugely successful and beneficial Forest School experience last term, and as 3JW embark upon their own journey of discovery, we are delighted to inform you that a team of volunteers from the North West Kent Countryside Partnership have been busy enhancing the Scout Area part of the site. They have spent two days (with a third to come) applying their muscles and tools to site improvements including creating a fire circle, clearing pathways and hacking though undergrowth to create a magical network of paths, tunnels and hidey-holes (see photos). We would like to say a HUGE thank you to the Otford Village Fete Committee for their generous donation of £660 which has funded this development.
Thank you too to all those who voted for OPFS in the Aviva Community Fund application. We were shortlisted as a finalist but unfortunately failed to win the £5000 top award. However, we did win £500 towards the project which would not have been possible without your votes.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank publicly our wonderful team of volunteers - Jan Padgett, Nic Clarke, Jenny Donelan and Irene Simmons - whose support is invaluable in making the children's experiences as powerful and enjoyable as they are. If you are interested in joining the team or would just like to find out a little more about it, please contact Mr Grobel via the office.
