Covid numbers update

Dear Parents,

Firstly, I would like to thank you for your continued patience and support during the last two weeks and would like to share some important information with you regarding the Covid numbers at the school. We are pleased to inform you that the Covid rate has dropped since Friday.

We have been in touch with GDPR advisory in Kent, Mr. Ian Watts (Education Officer) and the DPO (Data Protection Officer) and are now able to share numbers with you. The cases in each year group are:

Year R = 3

Year 1 = 3

Year 2 = 3

Year 3 = 2

Year 4 = 15

Year 5 = 8

Year 6 = 19

We are implementing all safety measures as recommended by the DFE and will continue to keep measures in place for as long as it is necessary. We are working hard to keep both the children and the staff as safe as they possibly can be during this period of time.

We are aware that there are many children who are currently absent from school. Could I please ask parents to ensure that all children attend school unless they are unwell or display symptoms of Covid, in which case a Lateral Flow test, followed up by a PCR test is required and a positive test result must please be reported to the office. For the children who are unwell, I would like to thank the parents for informing us and I do wish them a swift recovery and return to school.

Parents who have enquired regarding PTFA events, the DFE have unfortunately requested to cancel all events including the Disco on Friday the 19th of November and the Christmas Fayre on Saturday the 4th of December 2021.

We are pleased to still be taking part in the Children in need day on Friday the 19th of November by dressing up in something spotty. Please support this good cause by making a donation which can be given to the teachers.

We will also be taking part in Save the Children Christmas Jumper day on Friday the 10th of December by dressing up in Christmas jumpers. This too is a good cause to support by making a donation which can be given to the teachers.

Finally, I would like to thank all the children who attended the St Bartholomew’s church day for Remembrance Sunday. I will shortly be uploading a post to class Dojo. We would like to thank all the children for representing the school.

We will continue to maintain the preventative measures within the school to keep all children and staff as safe as possible and are working hard to bring the Covid numbers down as swiftly as possible. We will inform you if we get any spikes in any year groups.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. Roberts

Headteacher
